School of Business
![]() The School is committed to preparing students for a changing business environment. Students in the School are provided with an experience that will not only equip them with the knowledge skills and abilities for a future career, but also a practical professional experience through the Internship Program which is part of every degree in the School. In keeping with this overall philosophy, our lecturers are specifically selected for their extensive practical experience in the relevant sphere of study. Our graduating commerce students are fast developing the reputation of being significantly "work ready" when entering the workforce. The unique Catholic character of the School is reflected in the commitment to business ethics. Students are challenged to consider the values and qualities of ethical leadership in the workplace; to debate with other students and staff the challenges of developing and maintaining standards of ethical behaviour; and to develop a broad range of insights into the practical application of ethical principles in the leading profit and non-profit organisations in the world. The School has developed strong links with the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame United States (NDUS), with faculty from the American campus teaching in the School each year. The School also hosts 30 visiting business students from NDUS and as part of this unique exchange and runs a special Pacific Rim study program in its first semester which includes a tour to key areas in the Asian region. |
