School of Business
![]() The first meeting of the Association was held on 31 August 1984 and the Inaugural Dinner was held in the Dining Hall on 16 October 1986. A large attendance at that Dinner heard an address by Guest of Honour Howard Handy (1966) who spoke of the role of The International Monetary Fund in International Finance. The attendance included the Provost Dr Watts and Mrs Watts, Frank O'Reilly Chancellor of Dublin University and Chairman Ulster Bank Amory Pakenham Walsh, Niall Crowley Chairman AIB, and Gerry Walsh Chief Executive TSB Dublin. The objective of the TBA was to act as a vehicle through which new ideas in the field of business administration and education could be explored to provide a forum for discussion on mutual business interests between graduates of varying backgrounds and to prepare position papers on matters relating to the business sector in Ireland. |
