Business School
With a reputation for teaching excellence and student support, the Business School provides an extremely stimulating environment within one of the liveliest cities in the world. Middlesex University Business School is a large London-based business school. Its location allows the Business School to have extensive links with businesses and organisations throughout London, and, with around 5,000 students and in excess of 150 academic staff, is probably the largest provider of business education and management development in the UK.With a reputation for teaching excellence and student support, the Business School provides an extremely stimulating environment within one of the liveliest cities in the world. The Middlesex MBA has evolved following over 30 years of experience. It is designed to balance the business knowledge needs of the student with the management/leadership skills necessary for business leaders in the modern world. The learning on the MBA is maximised by using a range of approaches appropriate to experienced managers, including: four residential experiential workshops (the last being a week overseas working with an international company); a live consultancy project with an external organisation; an individual applied project; external lectures from major industrial heads (for the latest list, please check our website); and lectures, seminars and workshops. This variety of learning experiences allows students the opportunity to maximise their learning from both our experienced staff and their fellow students. The final applied project allows students to explore deeply a topic of interest. We recognise that students will have operated, and may still operate after graduation, within a specialist area – for example the Health Sector. Students can add a specialist focus to their MBA at Middlesex. This specialist focus will come mainly towards the end of the programme, and is achieved through a concentration within their electives and their action/applied project. Our students come from all over the world and have an average age of 30 years. The work and management experience is a major benefit to both the students and the programme – and the alumni network crosses the globe. Workshops include students from both the full-time and part-time programmes to further enhance the student experience. At the Middlesex MBA we are aware of the careers desires of our students and we take assisting this career planning seriously, starting at the beginning of the programme. Through out a series of careers workshops provided by specialists within the recruitment industry and/or from business and industry, students obtain guidance from recognised experts, providing a solid basis for furthering their careers. |
