School of Business and Social Sciences
![]() Our academic staff are excellent and committed teachers who will help engage you in the theory and practice in your chosen discipline. We offer plenty of personal support to help you succeed. Masters students benefit from teaching in small groups. A particular strength in the School is our expertise and interest in the not-for-profit sector and issues of social justice. • At the Masters’ level if you are, or aspire to be, a manager in a charity, a faith-based organization or a diversity manager we have specific programmes that will interest you. • At the undergraduate level, you can specialise in human rights, do a placement in a not-for-profit organization or take our “questioning citizenship” module (whatever your discipline). All of these activities are underpinned by our Government-funded centre of excellence in teaching and learning about human rights, social justice and citizenship (Crucible). Crucible builds our links with campaigning organizations and ensures that learning materials and activities are exciting, up-to-date and relevant. We work with businesses, public sector organizations and charities offering consultancy, applied research, training from one-off workshops to accredited programmes and other types of engagement. |
