Overview

Thames Valley University (TVU) was awarded university status in 1992 and has been providing technical and vocational education since 1860. On 1 January 2004, Thames Valley University merged with Reading College and School of Arts and Design. This merger has made us one of the UK’s most distinctive universities.We are characterised by our great diversity, offering an unrivalled range of subjects and levels of provision. The University is based on three main campuses: Ealing in West London, Slough and Reading in Berkshire.All campuses are within easy reach of London’s Heathrow international airport and are served by excellent transport links.

The Faculty of Professional Studies at Thames Valley University (TVU) is one of the largest providers of management education and training in the southeast of England.We offer a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professionally related programmes in accounting, human resources, information management and information technology, management, marketing, law, and purchasing and supply.

TVU has a long and proud tradition of attracting students from all around the world. The role of our International Office is to offer you support, and to help make your experience at TVU as interesting and rewarding as possible. The region in which the University is situated offers the best of both worlds. On the one hand, there are tourist attractions, museums, art galleries, theatres and the vast range of entertainment on offer in Britain’s capital; on the other, there is the open countryside of Royal Berkshire, with its many historic buildings and national heritage sites.

Our MBA has been running for nearly 20 years, and we have had international operations bases in Israel, India, Poland, Singapore and South Africa. It is designed for graduate students who are already in some form of leadership role in their profession, but who are seeking increased effectiveness and/or career prospects by augmenting their management knowledge and skills. Additionally, students may be aiming to move into more senior management roles within their organisation.

The course has been developed with input from employers from large and small firms, from both the public and private sectors. Their input has been included within the curriculum, and has influenced the design and development of this course. Added to the experience of our international operations, this course will ensure that you will be ideally equipped for the professional challenges in the future by encouraging innovation, achievement, intellectual rigour and excellence. Our MBA caters for the needs and aspirations of students who have been or are working in all business sectors, especially those in small enterprises, the public sector, financial institutions and international businesses, both in the UK and abroad.

Students on our MBA may have the opportunity of a group field study, spent visiting a foreign company in either Poland or Italy. This offers you an invaluable opportunity to practice teamwork in an international setting, and to apply your knowledge and skills in international business management, while directly experiencing full immersion in a foreign culture.
