Overview

Lamar University (LU) offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree through its Graduate School, designed for full-time study as well as for working professionals. The program, founded in 1965, is fully accredited by AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

The mission of the Lamar MBA program is to deliver a dynamic integrated management education to a variety of student groups. Our students range from those who are exploring their career goals, through students who want to advance their existing business knowledge, and to students who have a focused career path. These different student needs are met through either the flexible part-time or the full-time Lamar MBA.

The Lamar MBA program places a heavy emphasis on an experiential-based approach to problem solving including the knowledge, skill and ability to incorporate ethical considerations, leadership, teamwork, and a global perspective into the decision-making process. At Lamar University, we blend our student’s MBA education with four key ingredients: passionate teaching, active learning, specialized knowledge and professional development to enhance their career potential.

The MBA program now offers new concentrations and will extend and refine the student’s knowledge of business through study, experiential exercises, and assessment of performance in the areas listed under the graduate program objectives. The MBA concentrations are accounting, experiential business & entrepreneurship (cohort program), financial management, health care administration, management information systems, service management & marketing, thematic and thesis.
