Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY - School of Business )
There has been much recent progress and change at the College. Since 1999, we have grown in enrollment by 35 percent, more than doubled the size of our full-time faculty, added new degree programs, and changed our name from Audrey Cohen College to the Metropolitan College of New York.
Throughout all the changes and all the growth, since the College’s founding in 1964, “Purpose” has been the driving force of our institution. We develop all courses around this concept, and assessment focuses on a student’s abilities as displayed through a Constructive Action to achieve a Purpose. That is why we describe MCNY as Purpose-Centered Education. This philosophy was invented and developed by our founder and first president, Audrey Cohen.
MCNY is a vibrant learning institution geared to highly motivated individuals who want to earn a degree at an accelerated pace, while working, and who seek an innovative education that helps them, and no less importantly, their employers and communities.
Because we encourage students to work while they are pursuing their degrees, we offer flexible class schedules in addition to the accelerated timetable, so MCNY students do not have to put their professional lives on hold while pursuing an education. One can earn a bachelor’s degree in less than three years and a master’s degree in as little as twelve months.
